Beef- It's What's for Dinner

Today we made beef-flavored rice, stirfry peppers and onions in butter, and the beef-cheese-onion patties we got at Aldis.
The rice was delicious, the veggies were also delicious. The beef patties reminded me of the Philli Cheese steaks we ate when we visited Shahram's family in PA... But Not as good in my opinion. They improved with Ketchup and put between slices of toast, like a philli cheese steak, but I could only take the meat in small doses.
We still have one more serving of these left. Maybe if I chop it up and brown more of it, and then prepare it with melted cheese and buns into philli cheese steaks, I will actually like it. With like, a side of chilli or something. As it was, I liked the rice and veggies but we need to get more creative. I feel like we're making the exact same thing all the time lately. : ) Meh well, live and learn! Shahram loved the burgers. He helped me finish mine.

Chicken Vegetable Stirfry khosh-mazeh

Tonight we made chicken vegetable stir fry. We used the rest of the bag of frozen vegetables, one of our two last chickens, and a fresh green pepper. We partly grilled the chicken on the George Foreman grill with balsamic vinegar and spices, but when the inside didn't cook we chopped it up and finished cooking it with oil, spices and vegetables. : ) Shahram said people call chunks of chicken like that 'Ghhay-meh' and there is an idiom when people are mad they say, "Ghay-meh ghaymatt meccanam!" I am going to chop you into little pieces. Bwahahaha!

We also had corn on the cob. : ) It was delicious. However, that piece that is cut up had a worm that we cut out of it. So, even though it turned out that none of the rest of the corn had any worms, we made a bet about who would find the next one- Delicious!- and bite off his head.

Then there was the leftover spaghetti on its way out but not much sauce so we mixed the sauce we had all through the spaghetti. It was decent, but we forgot to heat up the spaghetti after so the chicken stirfry was delicious, the corn was interestingly/dangerously delicious, and the spaghetti was good but cold noodles. We also improvised spicy sauce for the veggies by mixing tons of hot sauce packets with the small remainder of the ketchup and sloshing it around. It tasted like BBQ hot sauce.

A Little Chicken Goes A Looooong Way!

Tonight we ate the last chicken breast. We have been shopping French-style lately. We got some onions, a frozen vegetable mix, and Mac and Cheese to go with our delicious Bah ghee men day (leftover) chicken!

We also added some onions to the pan-fried chicken and the vegetable mix to add taste, and some of the little spices we have, salt and cummin and pepper from the sampler, and a hot sauce mixed in with the oil and onions we fried the chicken in. It all came out really good! A simple, filling meal. We had enough bah-ghee-men-day for both of us to have a decent lunch tomorrow at work, as well! < 3

Here is a picture of the whole bowl when it was all done!

Tisane

For my 26th Birthday we went out to Tisanes in Hartford.
First we got tea. Here is an example of a delicious apricot tea! The tea bags were huge and it smelled like perfume. The mugs were the size of soup bowls!

Next we got delicious salad. There were all kinds of vegetables and I think the dressing was oil and apple vinegar, because it was sweet and different.
Before: Delicious buffalo chicken breast over chive mashed potatoes, carmelized onions, spinach and a unique yummy sauce.

After: "Woman who just ate everything on the plate" Hah!

George Foreman Grill :-D

Our George Foreman grill arrived and we finally got to use it! :-) We grilled boneless skinless chicken breasts marinated in balsamic vinaigrette, onion and garlic spices. Then we made spicy tomato-base Mexican rice with the rice cooker. Plus Gatorade!!! (Our amazing cube glasses make everything seem like a fancy drink!) < 3 Score: ***** 5/5 stars

This is what success looks like.

Chocolate chip banana pancakes < 3

Shahram and I found this GREAT buy at Aldis! HUGE pack of chocolate-chip precooked pancakes for under 2$. Unfortunately the first time we cooked them, they came out really chewy... We solved the problem! We marinated the pancakes in syrup before microwaving them and they came out absolutely delicious! Even better with bananas and butter on top! YUM!

Our rice cooker finally came in the mail! :-D We made a simple dinner. Chicken patties, heated up frozen vegetables, and DELICIOUS perfect chicken-flavored rice from our NEW rice cooker!!! < 3 With Tea to drink. Score: * * * 3/5 stars

Spaghetti and Hotdogs :-D

"Waste not, Want Not!" We used the other half of the box of angel hair spaghetti, and the rest of the pasta sauce. But we were really hungry so we made hot dogs and a salad too. Then we thought the spaghetti was missing something- so we chopped up another couple hotdogs to improvise meatballs. Result Delicious!!! Reminded me of the Romantic Spaghetti Scene from "Lady and the Tramp!" Score: * * * * 4/5 stars

Some pictures of food

For this one we took frozen breaded chicken, cut it into strips, microwaved it with spaghetti sauce, and used it to top angel hair spaghetti. It tasted just like chicken parmegian? parmasan? We added olives and garlic wheat toast for color. :-)
